Was this really the best he could do?
British media criticized the effort by Prince Andrew to rebut allegations that he had sex with a woman who was trafficked as a teenager by Jeffrey Epstein, describing the interview as a failure in public relations.
Andrew strongly denied having sex with the woman, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, in a rare interview with BBC Newsnight broadcast on Saturday. But British newspapers and commentators on social media are criticizing him for continuing to defend his friendship with Epstein and failing to show sympathy for the victims of the convicted sex offender.
“I didn’t sweat at the time because I had suffered what I would describe as an overdose of adrenalin in the Falkland’s War when I was shot at.”

Even some, like the editor of the Royal Central website, who closely followed the Royal Family, offered more disappointment than sympathy. Charlie Proctor wrote on Twitter: “I expected a train wreck. That was a plane crashing into an oil tanker, causing a tsunami, triggering a nuclear explosion-level bad.”
