Not even a week after special counsel Robert Mueller concluded his report and Attorney General Barr determined that President Trump was innocent of any Russian collusion, Democrats are making another uncalled for attack against Trump.
The House Oversight and Reform Committee has requested 10 YEARS of President Trump’s financial records from the tax and accounting firm, Mazars USA.
Led by the committee’s chairman, Democrat Elijah Cummings has vowed to investigate claims that were made by Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen.
Cummings has given Mazars USA until April 3 to deliver the documentation.
Democrats continue to show no disregard for the position of the presidency as they continue to mount these blatant attacks.
Two Republicans on the committee, Reps. Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows, have written about how this recent request “appears to depart from responsible and legitimate oversight,” and is intended “solely to embarrass President Trump and to advance the relentless Democrat attacks upon the Trump administration.”
In a letter to Cummings the two Republicans state that, “We should not waste our limited resources and energies on matters that do not improve the operations of the federal government or better the lives of our constituents.”
They also denounced Cummings move as “an ill-conceived inquiry into the finances of President Trump when he was a private citizen.”
It’s clear that Democrats have no intention of stopping their harassment of Donald Trump. They intend to continue until they get the results they want, or Republicans do something to force them to stop.
